Scientific Writing and Communication I is designed for undergraduate students that have already joined a research group and are at an early stage of their research career. As writing is an important part of the scientific research process, this course will focus on the fundamentals of effective written communication where students will learn how to write grant proposals in English adapted to the research projects that students are already working on in their research labs. |

Students will learn to critically evaluate the writing found in published literature, refine their understanding of the structure and style of scientific research papers, learn the basics of writing grant proposals, engage in peer review activities, and develop the ability to clearly and concisely express their research ideas. By writing a grant proposal based upon their own research, students will gain a deeper understanding of the work in their field.
