This course provides a broad introduction to the Semantic Web, Linked Data and Knowledge Graphs. It presents a landscape overview of the research area, surveys state-of-the-art research and discusses the outlook and future evolution of the Web and Knowledge Graphs. The course will strike a fine balance between breadth and depth, covering some the fundamental topics in this area, including data and knowledge representation methods, semantic inference, query/question answering, knowledge graph completion, and representation learning (embedding). |

Session 1:The World Wide Web: General Introduction (5学时) Introduce the history and evolution of the Web, as well as the Semantic Web Session 2:Bringing Semantics to the Web (5学时) Introduce the inception of the Semantic Web, RDF, RDF Schema, and SPARQL Session 3:Knowledge is Power (5学时) Introduce the history of Ontology languages, OWL, and Ontology engineering with Protege Session 4:Linked Data & Knowledge Graph (10学时) Introduce the principles of Linked Data, and Knowledge Graphs Session 5:Knowledge Graphs & Machine Learning (10学时) Introduce important research problems on KG, KG embedding, and question answering over KG Session 6:Applications of Ontologies & Knowledge Graphs (10学时) Introduce the benefits and limitations of KG, also some applications in software engineering, bioinformatics, and other aspects of the Web Session 7:Current Research Issues & Outlook (5学时) Introduce the things from Semantic Web to Knowledge Graphs, as well as some important research questions. Finally, where are we headed?
