中文简介 奥林匹克运动是现代体育的最高形式,是人类文化的集中体现。
北京2008年申奥成功,“人文奥运”、“绿色奥运”、“科技奥运”口号的提出,揭示出奥林匹克运动和科学技术、环境保护、人类发展等众多问题错综复杂的关系。
综观奥林匹克运动史,现代体育与人类文化的发展、变化和延续息息相关。不同时期的国际和国内政治、经济和社会的发展直接或间接地影响到每一次奥运会的申办、组织和参与;人们对待奥林匹克的态度和认识又可以反映成不同民族和时期的价值取向、审美情趣和伦理规范。
奥林匹克运动通过其宪章、宗旨和组织结构、活动形式等方面,使其成为一个全球的独特文化现象。
“奥林匹克文化”课程是一门融体育学、历史学、人类文化学和社会学为一体的新型理论课。
将从奥林匹克运动的历史进程来探讨文化的发展、变化和延续,讲授不同民族文化对奥林匹克运动的影响和作用以及奥运会对建筑、音乐、舞蹈、美术等的影响,介绍奥林匹克运动在我国的发展,当今国际体育的基本格局以及奥运会的组织和未来走向等。
英文简介 1. Course introduction
Olympic movement is the highest form of modern sport, the reflection of human cultures. After Beijing’s successful bid for the 2008 Olympics, the slogan of humanity Olympics, hi-tech Olympics and green Olympics was voiced. Such slogan reveals the complicated relationship between Olympics, culture, science and technology, environment, and human development. The course will introduce Olympic movement and the related controversies and views from the perspective of culture In broad sense, analyze the relationship between Olympic culture and human and social development, politics, economy and world peace as well as the environmental protection.

2. Course objectives
It is intended that through the course students can learn and acquire the values and the positive character traits that are assumed to be developed in sport and Olympic Movement; to examine closely all aspects of the modern Olympic Games and Olympism in order to offer a comprehensive understanding of two key aspects of the Modern Olympic Culture: its historical developments and its present fundamental characteristics; the nature of the tensions created in the process of its evolution which have led to recent reforms.

课堂讲授
Teaching format
The course adopts theme the lectures, using bio-lingual language combining PowerPoint presentation with video, recording play and presentation of actual goods, teacher’s lectures with students’ discussion.
1) Class participation 20%
2) Mid-term essays: 30% ( adopting the format of group work, writing any subject of their choice).
3.Final examination: 50%,open book exams.
